Funding for our program

The program receives no funding from State or Federal agencies, nor does it receive funding from the national "A Better Chance" organization.

So all the funds are raised from the local community. The annual budget is  about $85,000 per year Currently there are three principal ways in which this is raised:

        ●    An annual appeal letter, sent to town residents usually in late November

         (about 25%).  The 2008 letter is available here.

        ●    The Secret Garden Tour, usually held the 2nd Saturday of June. (about

         15%). 

        ●    Support from the Hole in the Wall thrift shop on Boston Street. (about 40%)

Additionally we receive funds from Guilford Community Fund, local churches, some local businesses, from alumni and other generous donors.
