MO PLEASURE BENEFIT CONCERT

In 2009, 2011 2014 and most recently 2016, Morris “Mo” Pleasure produced four sold-out concerts at the Guilford High School to benefit Guilford ABC. His 2014 concert on Saturday, October 25, 2014, included a guest appearance with his longtime friend and mentor, Roberta Flack, other renowned jazz artists and the GHS Jazz Ensemble. In 2016 he came back to play with special guest and the entire GHS Symphony Orchestra which performed Rhapsody Blues!

Mo Pleasure was born in Guilford and he attended the public schools here. His father, Robert Pleasure, was the long-time principal of A. W. Cox Elementary School in Guilford and one the Guilford ABC founders.

Morris graduated from UCONN and then  played with Ray Charles. In 1993, he joined the legendary Earth, Wind and Fire and soon became the group’s musical director. He played keyboard, trumpet and guitar with Janet Jackson’s “All for You” tour, and played keyboard for Michael Jackson’s “This Is It” tour. Morris. Pleasure performed at Michael Jackson’s memorial service.

Morris Pleasure met his future wife, Lori Harris Pleasure, when she arrived from Cleveland, Ohio in the second year of the Guilford ABC program.
